Kids C.A.R.E. is a 4 week program that helps children and parents “Cope Against Raging Emotions”. The program is geared toward children aged 8 – 12 and helps families explore the causes and effects of raging emotions.
The program offers support tools and techniques to assist the child when confronted with bullying and to help them learn to handle anger and tempers. The Children will be exposed to a variety of ways to channel their emotions positively, while using hands on, developmentally appropriate materials and real-life (role playing) situations.

Parents will also learn how to help their child manage situations and provide positive role modeling.

The Kids C.A.R.E. group will meet every Tuesday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Forest Green Estates in Meadville beginning March 18^th 2014.

Back by popular demand are the Sofa King Cool Band and the Balloon Bust!

The Sofa King Cool Band plays a variety of classic rock, country and oldies and is guaranteed to get you dancing (or at least tapping your foot and singing along).  The Balloon  Bust features 200 balloons containing a “prize” worth at least $10.  When the balloon is popped the winner brings their slip of paper to the prize table to see what they’ve won!  Prizes include 2 Kindle Fire HDs, numerous gift certificates to local golf courses, restaurants, oil changes, hair salons, and much much more!

Tickets are $15 and are available at the Center for Family Services office or at The Cutting Edge Hair Salon and Ooh La La Consignment shop.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

Venue: Italian Civic Club will have a cash bar available and reasonably priced menu items, especially for this event. Located at 869 Water Street in Meadville

The proceeds of this event benefit the programs and services provided through the Center for Family Services.  The event also includes games of chance.

Center for Family Services is sponsoring a Fair Housing Seminar.  The guest presenter is  Kelly Valdez from SW PA Legal Services.

The training will offer a comprehensive overview of the Fair Housing Act including:

• Who is protected?
• What types of housing are covered?
• What are prohibited practices
• What options are available to victims

Erlichs’ Pest Control will conclude the seminar with a presentation of Bedbugs and other pests.
